Terms of Service
Last updated 22 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and [legal entity name] (“we”, “us”) for using OpenWeightModels. By creating an account, publishing a Comparison or posting in a Discussion, you accept them.
1. What the service is
OpenWeightModels is a public forum for side-by-side comparisons of open-weight model outputs. Anyone can read the Board and published Comparisons. Writing requires an account.
2. Your account
- You sign in with a single-use email link. There is no password, and your email address is never shown publicly.
- You choose a unique handle on first sign-in. Everything you publish is attributed to that handle.
- You must be old enough to enter a binding contract in your jurisdiction ([minimum age]) and must not be barred from using the service under applicable law.
- You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us at [contact email] if you believe it has been compromised.
3. Your content
- You keep ownership of the Prompts, Base outputs and Discussion you post, and of the Annotations you write.
- By publishing, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, reproduce and distribute that content on the service, so we can show it on the Board and to readers. This licence ends for content you delete, except where the Privacy Policy says a tombstone or a published Comparison remains.
- You confirm you have the right to post what you upload, and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights.
4. Generated Responses
Challenger Responses are generated by third-party model providers using the Comparison’s Prompt. They can be wrong, offensive or out of date, and they do not represent our views. A Comparison is an observation about model output, not a recommendation or a benchmark.
We send the Prompt to the provider to generate a Response. The Base output you upload is not sent. Providers process the Prompt under their own terms.
5. Acceptable use
You must not:
- post harassment, hate speech, sexual content involving minors, threats, spam, malware or content that violates the law;
- impersonate another person, or misrepresent who wrote a Response;
- scrape, overload or probe the service, bypass quotas, or attempt to access drafts, Jobs, admin surfaces or other accounts you do not own;
- upload content you do not have the rights to share.
6. Moderation
Signed-in readers can report a Comparison, comment or Annotation. Admins can hide reported content, take a Comparison down, and suspend an account that breaks these terms. A suspended account can still read, but cannot write. We keep an internal audit record of these actions so they stay attributable.
7. Copyright and other complaints
Send copyright or other rights complaints to [contact email] with the content link, what is infringed and your contact details. We may remove content while we review it.
8. Ending your use
You can delete your account at any time from Account. Published work stays under an anonymous attribution, and private drafts are deleted; the Privacy Policy explains exactly what happens. We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms or creates legal or security risk.
9. Availability, disclaimers and liability
The service is provided “as is”. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or that generated content is accurate. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. [Liability cap and jurisdiction-specific wording to be set by counsel.]
10. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on the service before they take effect. These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction], and disputes go to [courts or arbitration].
